It's been a transformational year for all areas of our business, and social impact is no exception. This year, we've unveiled new charitable partnerships and ambitious projects that are designed to boost climate resilience in the UK, particularly when it comes to flood risk.

Through our partnership with The Wildlife Trusts (TWT), we’re funding research to continue to uncover the benefits of natural flood management and how it can be applied in communities as a complement to traditional flood management.

In 2023, we partnered with Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust and provided funding and our risk management expertise to help deliver natural flood management (NFM) and sustainable drainage system (SuDS) schemes.
This year, we've been building on the success of the partnership in Cheltenham and Gloucester by expanding the programme to Stroud and Tewkesbury. The new phase will scale up proven NFM and SuDS schemes and explore new opportunities to unlock match funding, while deepening partnerships with community groups, businesses and local councils.

This year we joined forces with the University of Hull's Energy and Environment Institute (EEI) to launch a new study. The 18-month long research project aims to help businesses and property owners adapt to the rising threat of flooding.
Helping people, businesses and society is a core part of who we are as a business, and managing flood risk is an area where we have deep expertise and can have a big impact. As part of our ongoing research with our partners, we will continue to share findings and address challenges that we know many businesses face.
This summer, Intact Insurance colleagues volunteered, fundraised and donated generously to support the causes that mean the most to them. For the first time ever, we held a roadshow to help connect each of our offices to their local community.
Thanks to the dedication of our Charity Committees and their passion for giving back, we’re proud to share that 32% of our employees have already taken part in our community programmes this year.

As part of giving back to our local communities, we partner with UK Youth, a leading national youth work charity focusing on social change.
We run a 'Building Aspirations' programme across 4 UK locations - Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Halifax - guiding 120 young people a year through an employability skills curriculum. This includes access to a scholarship fund towards additional training courses, or to cover the cost of equipment.
