How this bond works
- This type of bond is required by law for people who have been appointed as a judicial factor in Scotland.
- Only a professional person can apply for this bond on an appointed judicial factor’s behalf.
- A bond does not provide any insurance or protection for the appointed person.
- The bond provides a guarantee that funds will be repaid to an estate, business or charity by the judicial factor at the request of the Office of the Accountant of Court.
- The Office of the Accountant of Court make a claim on us. We will settle the claim on behalf of the judicial factor and then the judicial factor will pay us back.
- The judicial factor must reimburse us for all payments.
The judicial factor provides a financial guarantee of up to £2 million.
